In the world, especially in developing countries, the protection of children and girls rights is still very marginal. The District 2100, through the collaboration of the non-profit organization “Terre des Hommes”, wants to activate a common line in defense of girls on the issues of discrimination and gender violence at international level. The District’s commitment is to promote the project not only in its own territory, but also in the European districts. With the help of the non-profit organization “Terre des Hommes” we will host an itinerant photographic exhibition on “Saved girls” and “Fragile”. The exhibition will be inaugurated during REM Vesuvius Express on Saturday 26th October, and from there it can be hosted throughout Europe giving life to a traveling tour. We will provide any club/district with all the material and info to replicate it in their own territory. Together with the exhibition, we will be providing a survey to monitor and collect data on the phenomenon of discrimination and gender violence effectively and constantly.
Finally, the project promotes the improvement of the living conditions of girls in India, raising funds for the “India Reception Homes” project which aims to provide shelter for girls or women who need care a protection. All the incomes from the exhibitions (in Caserta and the travelling one) and the fundraising of REM Vesuvius Express and Pre REM Salerno will be directed to this project.
